Second Success

We played Angle of Deflection again, mostly the same as before but with a few changes and additions that we came up with between game days. It still plays very well!
I figured I might mention the stuff I was busy with during the non-update period there. The primary thing was the new game table you can see in this photo. It's 6'x4' on the surface, the top being made up of 2'x4' interchangable panels. There are cup holders, dice rolling areas, a four section drawer, and a small shelf for two players. There's also a slide out tray on each side for papers or what have you. Below the table are shelves (and a Zuckuss in this particular photo) for storing terrain and additonal table top boards. It works very well, and it looks far better than the closet doors on sawhorses I used before.
Anyway, the first game today was a British bomber escort mission. Things went a little poorly here. As you can see one bomber has a damaged engine, while the second one is falling out of the sky. A German fighter here is also going down, but two British Spitfiers are quick to follow. In the end, the Germans lost three of their four fighters and the bomber was successful. A win for me!...uh...I mean the British.

In the second game the Germans flew bombers back at the British. Apparently captured British bombers from somewhere (Lancasters are the only bombers we currently have to use). You can see the bomber has a damaged engine here spewing smoke, and you see a Spitfire out there in a similar situation. That fighter went into a Stall, managed to recover, and was then gunned down as he tried to flee the board. Damn jerries!
Anyway, that's as damaged as the German bombers got. They made it across and completed their mission, the British lost three of the four fighters trying to stop them.
Over all it was a great day, and I'm happy to say that the game it working very well!
