SMF Campaign: Issue 1

We got together for a Game Day a few weeks back, and played four games of Super Mission Force in a campaign format.

Eric didn't name his super hero group, but based on the names he gave the individual heroes, I figured this would work pretty well.

Issue 1: Life Work

The villains, Dr. Heckle, Mr. High Tide, and the Swiss Soldier, are heading down to the docks.  Their goal is to bust open the red storage container and steal a box containing the life work of someone.  They don't actually know who's, but they don't really care either. A job's a job.

The heroes heard about the heist just in time, and arrived at the same time as the villains. The heroes come in from the harbor. Master Particle, Lord Magnificent, and Captain Fancy fly in, Citadel runs in over on the boat.
Master Particle is apprehensive about this fight, Dr Heckle wasn't always a villain.  He was once a good man, a professor, and a former teacher to Master Particle himself! (dun dun dun!)

Mr. High Tide moves up the alleyway drive to the docks, he thinks the truck parked there provides an unnecessary obstacle, so picks it up and hurls it toward the bay.

It doesn't make it,  but it's cleared the way for his allies.  It also broke that guys sports car.  The heroes speed up, closing on the approaching villains.

Swiss Soldier sprints forward, each step making him larger and larger (growth), until BAM!, he slams a massive fist into Lord Magnificent!  The flying hero, understandably surprised, is knocked backwards and crashes to the docks below!

While Captain Fancy can do nothing but watch his companion crash from the sky, Master Particle reaches the docks intending to block the container doors at any cost.

Citadel rolls his way across the yacht and flips onto the overturned truck to take on the huge villain!

Somehow the masked hero used his comparatively tiny toothpick staff to deliver a devastating blow to Swiss Soldier!  Captain Fancy follows up with a super punch of his own.  Not being very bright the Soldier completely forgot to increase his density as he grew, so he's knocked back, and down, and fails his KO check.  Annoyingly, his unconscious and huge body is now blocking the ally exactly like the truck was in the beginning.
Dr. Heckle walks forward, absently mixing chemicals into a boost potion that he tosses into Mr. High Tide (enhance). Mr. High Tide then loses cohesion and drops to the ground as a puddle, flowing across the ground through cracks and crevasses (burrow).

Master Particle reaches the container door and takes up a guard position while Captain Fancy drops down to confront the liquid villain.  But Mr. High Tide is no fool, as he reforms into a solid figure great geysers of water shoot from the ground, knocking two of the heroes prone!

Dr. Heckle Keeps moving, slow and deliberate.  He also speaks up, hurling insults at Captain Fancy, questioning his fashion sense mostly.  (Stun) It works, and Captain Fancy is now distracted with a self review of his uniform choices.
"Hey Citadel, I look ok, right?"
     "Are you kidding me?"
"No, I mean, the uniform's good, right?"

Citadel tries to down the massive villain, but does nothing but get his staff wet.  Captain Fancy stands, but doesn't do more than straighten his tunic.
Mr. High Tide roars and unleashes a huge wave of water toward the heroes (stomp), knocking two of them prone.  Master Particle, unlike the Swiss Soldier, was smart enough to increase his density, so he doesn't fall.  He just stands in front of the door, a super dense and immovable door stop.

Dr. Heckle keeps walking, this time directing his insults toward Lord Magnificent as he hovers above.  That works too, and the sorcerer is distracted (stunned) (though I can't remember what the Dr said exactly)

Mr. High Tide fights on for a moment, but even he can't stand against all three mighty heroes!  He falls, and fails his KO check.
Dr. Heckle decides there's no point in continuing, he can't defeat all these heroes alone, so vanishes quickly into a building and escapes.

----

The heroes have won the battle!  The Life Work is still secure, the villains were defeated, and Mr. High Tide was Captured!  Swiss Soldier was hurt enough that he will have a penalty in the next game (if he's used).  Dr. Heckle escaped to plot the rescue of his partner.
None of the heroes were hurt.  They stand ready to defend the city at a moments notice once again!
