Part 3!
The boards are now finished, and the game they were for is done, so I'm updating after the fact here.
After the first board was finished, I moved on to the second.
This board is less rocky that the first, lots of open grass space, but with hills to break up the field. Again, I was able to do the majority of the forming outside before moving the board in for details.
While waiting for stuff to dry on the board, I moved along on the Grand stand board. The small building on the left there contains the Damage Cards for the game, so it's not just a pretty piece, it has a purpose.
I also started on a new car, because it was fun, not because it was really needed.
I finished these boards just like the others. A layer of Durham's Water Putty, and some Elmer's wood putty. A layer of painted wood glue, then another layer of glue covered in sand, and another layer of wood glue painted on top of that. The paved roads got a layer of fine sand rather than the corse stuff, and then black paint.
I managed to finish two new cars rather than just the one. They came out nice.
#04 Dead End, and #52 VooDoo.
Next post, I'll show the finished boards.

I used a piece of small fiber conduit, painted silver of course, as a drainage tube. I thought it looked the part.

Flocking was then done as before, with a special blend of two flock types and three static grasses. The rocks were again painted grey, then slobbered with diluted color, then washed with a dark wash and dry-brushed pure white.
